Unity, Education Key to Nigeria’s Progress – Anyaso

The 2023 governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Abia State, Dr. Chimaobi Anyaso, has emphasized that national unity, quality education, and cultural pride remain essential for Nigeria’s overall development.

Anyaso stated this during the 2025 edition of his annual new yam cultural festival, Iri Ji Ofuji 2025, held at the palace of HRH Eze Anyanta Joseph in Igbere, Abia State. The event, which also marked his 45th birthday, had the theme: “Celebration of Two Decades of Bountiful Harvest: The Role of Education and Training in Cultivating the Next Generation of Wealth Creators.”

Speaking with journalists, Anyaso, who holds the traditional title of Ofuji Ndi Igbo, said Nigeria must prioritize unity and education to attain meaningful progress.

“With unity, Nigeria will achieve greater cohesion as a nation. Through strong educational advancement, we can secure a place among the world’s leading knowledge-driven countries, especially in this age of Artificial Intelligence,” he said.

He added that the promotion of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage could also make the country a major tourist destination, generating significant revenue.

Explaining the purpose of the festival, Anyaso said it was an opportunity to thank God for a fruitful harvest and the gift of life.

“When you thank God for what He has done, He will do more. Staying alive to reap what you planted is by His mercy,” he said.
