Tinubu to Sign Landmark Tax Reform Bills on Thursday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to sign four major tax reform bills into law on Thursday, a move the Presidency says will “transform Nigeria’s fiscal and revenue framework.”
The bills—passed by the National Assembly after extensive consultation with stakeholders—include:
1. Nigeria Tax Bill
2. Nigeria Tax Administration Bill
3. Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill
4. Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Bill
According to a statement by Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the new laws aim to overhaul Nigeria’s tax system, improve revenue collection, and create a more business-friendly environment. The reforms are also expected to attract both local and foreign investments.
The signing ceremony will take place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and will be witnessed by top government officials, including:
Senate President
Speaker of the House of Representatives
Leaders of both legislative chambers
Chairmen of Finance Committees
Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Governors Forum, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma
Finance Minister Wale Edun
Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi
