Tinubu Postpones Kaduna Visit, Heads to Benue Over Insecurity
President Bola Tinubu has postponed his scheduled visit to Kaduna State and will now travel to Benue State on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The change in plans is part of renewed efforts by the presidency to address the rising insecurity and violence plaguing several communities in Benue.
This development was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the President’s visit is aimed at gaining a first-hand understanding of the recurring violent conflicts in Benue, which have led to multiple deaths and widespread destruction of property.
