Tinubu Condemns Plateau Killings, Orders Swift Arrest of Perpetrators

President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent killing of travellers in Plateau State, labelling the attack as “barbaric and unacceptable.”

The condemnation followed the tragic murder of 12 wedding guests, including the father and brother of the groom, who were ambushed while travelling from Zaria, Kaduna State, to Jos, Plateau State.

In a statement released on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu directed security agencies—particularly the Nigerian Police Force—to collaborate with intelligence units to swiftly apprehend and prosecute those behind the attack.

“President Bola Tinubu has condemned the killing of travellers in Plateau State, urging security forces to ensure the arrest and punishment of the culprits,” the statement read.

He further emphasized the need for calm and reassured Nigerians that the federal government would not allow such heinous acts to go unpunished.
