Tinubu Adjourns FEC Meeting For 24-Hour

President Bola Tinububon Monday adjourned the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for 24 hours.

 

The Council meeting, which has not been held since March 25th, was convened by the President on Monday from 12 in the afternoon and ended some minutes to 5 in the evening.

 

Regular Council meeting normally terminates with media briefing by the ministers, particularly those whose memos have been approved and coordinated by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.

 

But Idris who addressed newsmen after the meeting said, “The meeting is not yet concluded. Council meeting will continue tomorrow. Therefore, there will be no press briefing today. A lot of far reaching decisions have been taken and the conclusions will be made available to you tomorrow.”

 

Recall the last Council meeting was held on 25th of March, 2024, where the administration approved the construction of 28 roads and bridges across the country worth over 1.2 trillion Naira.

 

Meanwhile, the President at the Council meeting swore in two more Federal commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).

 

They were Mr Fasuwa Johnson and Dr Amid Tadese Raheem from Ogun and Osun States respectively after their abridged citations were read.

 

Tinubu had on November 8th appointed 20 federal commissioners in the NPC with nine of them reappointed for a second term in office.
