The nightmare is over — Pogba reacts to reduced doping ban
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has taken to social media in reaction to the Court of Arbitration, CAS, decision to reduce his doping ban from four years to 18 months.
CAS confirmed on Friday that Pogba’s suspension had been reduced to 18 months, effective from September 11, 2023.
The Frenchman’s original four-year ban was handed down by the Italian National Anti-Doping Tribunal in February.
Pogba will now be eligible to return to competitive football on March 11, 2025, just four days before his 32nd birthday.
He wrote: “Finally, the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again.
“I always stated that I never knowingly breached anti-doping regulations; I play with integrity and I want to thank the Court of Arbitration who heard my explanation.
“This has been a hugely distressing period in my life because everything I’ve worked so hard for has been put on hold.
“Thank you for all the love and support. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch!”
