South East governors pushing for Nnamdi Kanu’s release – Otti

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has revealed that governors of the South East are engaging the Federal Government in discussions to secure the release of detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Speaking during his monthly media briefing on Thursday, Otti said efforts were ongoing behind the scenes, stressing that details could not be made public for now.
“As his governor, I am in the forefront of ensuring that he comes back. The South East governors are also involved. So, we are discussing,” he stated.
Beyond Kanu’s case, Otti noted that his administration remained focused on strengthening security across the state, particularly as the year winds down. He pledged continued support for security agencies, including the police, army, and DSS, while also mentioning the ongoing renovation and expansion of the state prison.
Commending security operatives for maintaining peace, the governor urged residents to remain vigilant during the ember months, stressing the importance of community cooperation and information sharing in sustaining security.
