On Friday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, criticized opposition politicians for forming a coalition against President Bola Tinubu’s administration just six months after it began in 2023.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Aguma Palace–New Market–Radio Nigeria road in Gwagwalada, Wike questioned why the coalition—using the African Democratic Congress as its platform for the 2027 elections—started so early.

He accused coalition members, including Rotimi Amaechi and David Mark, of being angry only because they were no longer in power, and challenged them to present their scorecards and show Nigerians what they achieved while in office, rather than claiming Nigerians were unhappy.

Wike also dismissed criticism over federal projects being commissioned in Abuja, saying the coalition leaders were upset that the government was recording successes.
