Shettima Condemns Borno Attack, Assures Justice for Victims

Vice President Kashim Shettima has condemned the Boko Haram attack on Darajamal community in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, describing it as tragic and heartbreaking.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, on Monday, Shettima expressed condolences to the families of the victims, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, and the Nigerian military. He assured that the Federal Government will bring the perpetrators to justice.
> “These deaths have left the entire nation in grief, but we are confident that justice will be served,” Shettima said.
The Vice President also revealed that President Bola Tinubu has ordered a review of security operations nationwide. This includes the deployment of advanced military hardware, surveillance equipment, and additional drones to strengthen the fight against terrorism.
Shettima further highlighted that the Federal Government is considering the establishment of state police, stressing that some regions require specialised security units familiar with local terrain, culture, and community networks.
