SERAP urges Tinubu to probe ₦2.9bn missing NIGCOMSAT, NNRA funds
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to investigate the alleged disappearance of ₦2.9 billion from two federal agencies.
In its appeal, SERAP urged the President to direct the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, alongside the management of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA), to account for the funds.
The organisation alleged that the money may have been missing or diverted, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in the handling of public resources.
SERAP also called for a thorough probe into the matter, urging authorities to identify and prosecute anyone found responsible, while ensuring the recovery of any missing funds.
According to the group, addressing such issues is critical to strengthening public trust, combating corruption and improving governance.
Observers say the development highlights ongoing concerns about financial accountability within public institutions and the role of watchdog organisations in demanding transparency.
