Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Arrives N’Assembly Amid Tight Security

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has arrived at the National Assembly complex in Abuja, drawing a significant crowd of supporters to the entrance and triggering a noticeable increase in security presence around the premises.
At least five police patrol vehicles were strategically stationed at the entrance, while security operatives carried out thorough checks on vehicles and restricted visitor access to the external parking area. The heightened security measures come in the wake of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s announcement of her decision to resume legislative duties.
The senator, who was suspended in March 2025, had over the weekend declared her intention to return to her Senate seat, citing a recent court decision in her favor. During a constituency training event, she revealed that she had officially communicated her planned return to the leadership of the Senate.
“I will be there, because the court did make the decision on that. Now, they argue that it’s an order, it’s not an order, but it is a decision,” she asserted, referring to the legal ruling she believes affirms her right to return.
While the suspension had not hindered her from executing constituency projects, Akpoti-Uduaghan stressed that it had prevented her from performing essential legislative functions such as sponsoring bills and moving motions.
