Senate Screens Tinubu’s 17 Nominees for Key Agencies in Rivers State

The Nigerian Senate has begun the screening of 17 individuals nominated by President Bola Tinubu to serve in key agencies in Rivers State.
The nominees—selected to lead the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, the Rivers State Civil Service Commission, and the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission—have completed their asset declarations with the Code of Conduct Bureau, following security clearance by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police.
Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, revealed this during a screening session conducted by the Senate’s ad hoc committee established to monitor the activities of the Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd).
This move comes just one week after President Tinubu formally forwarded the nominees’ names to the Senate for confirmation.
Among those nominated for the Rivers State Civil Service Commission are:
Dr Barikor Baribuma (Chairman)
Lot Egopija
Ms Maeve Ere-Bestman
Mrs Joy Obiaju
Mrs Charity Lloyd Harry
The screening exercise is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and administrative efficiency in Rivers State.
