SDP Suspends National Chairman Shehu Gabam Over Alleged Financial Misconduct

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has suspended its National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Gabam, along with Nze Nnadi Clarkson (National Auditor) and Uchechukwu Chukwuma (National Youth Leader), over allegations of gross financial misconduct, including embezzlement, misappropriation, and diversion of party funds.

According to a statement by SDP spokesperson Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the suspension is immediate and is backed by the party’s constitution. The NWC cited overwhelming evidence of unauthorized financial transactions and personal enrichment involving the trio.

The decision was reached during a recent NWC meeting, where it was revealed that party funds had been moved without the required approvals.
