Rep urges support for Tinubu’s re-election
A member of the House of Representatives, Akin Alabi, has called for early mobilisation of political support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The lawmaker, who represents a federal constituency in Oyo State, reportedly made the appeal during the launch of a grassroots political initiative aimed at strengthening engagement between supporters and communities at the local level.
According to Alabi, sustained mobilisation and public enlightenment are essential to building momentum for future electoral contests. He noted that the initiative is designed to highlight ongoing government policies and development programmes while encouraging citizens to actively participate in the democratic process.
He also urged party loyalists and stakeholders to remain united and focused on promoting governance achievements that, in his view, could influence voter confidence ahead of the polls.
Political observers say early campaign-style activities by party members reflect growing strategic positioning as various political actors begin to prepare for the next electoral cycle.
The lawmaker further expressed optimism that coordinated grassroots engagement would contribute to stronger political structures and increased voter turnout in future elections.
