Remove Jide Jimoh From The Lagos/Ogun Federal Civil Service Commission Slot- Group Tells Tinubu
Following the appointment of the Chairman and eleven other Members of the Federal Civil Service Commission by President Boha Ahmed Tinunbu on Friday, a social-cultural group in Lagos has called for the removal of Jide Jimoh.
The group under the aegis Omo Eko Pataki, in a statement by a Trustee, the Media Office of Major General Tajudeen Olabrewaju, on Sunday, expressed displeasure with appointing Jide Jimoh from Kwara to represent Lagos state.
The group called on President Tinubu to replace Jimoh’s appointment with a Lagos state indigene.

“The attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been drawn to what is thought to be a mistake in his new appointment of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) wherein he appointed a candidate said to be a blue blood Kwara State indigene to occupy the only joint slot shared by Lagos and Ogun states on the Commission.
“Calling the attention of the president to the mistake were some top indigenes of both states, who spoke separately but saying the same thing, that, “President Tinubu must hear this: Remove Jide Jimoh from Lagos/Ogun’s Federal Civil Service Commission slot”.
The loudest of the rejections was that by the Omo Eko Pataki, which complained that the two states to which the slot belongs would be badly deprived if they were represented by indigenes other than from among them for their benefits as guaranteed by law.
“The Lagos State socio-cultural organisation, membered by highly revered and integrity-based indigenes and eminent Nigerians, was vehement in its call on Tinubu to reconsider the appointment “by removing Jide Jimoh, who is from Kwara State, which also has its slot on the Commission, and appoint a new representative from the Lagos/Ogun states axis to feed into the joint slot.”
Omo Eko Pataki has objection to the nomination of Mr Jimoh as a representative of Lagos-Ogun States. Mr. President, why should a non-indigene of Lagos State be nominated to occupy a constitutionally guaranteed position of Lagos State and ceded to a Kwara State indigene?
“This aberration was also observed in the nomination of Mrs Ade-John as a full-fledged Ministerial appointee, filling a vacancy constitutionally allotted to Lagos State. This is wrong, unjust, and a grave injustice to the true indigenes of the state.
Mr. President, we, Omo Eko Pataki, feel that a stamp of continuous robbing Peter to pay Paul should be discontinued for real. We appeal to you, Sir, to urgently redress the wrong being done to your state. Your Excellency, Lagos State, cannot continue to suffer from what belongs to it,” the statement said.
