Remi Tinubu Honoured as ‘Iya Oba of Ikorodu’

First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the title of Iya Oba of Ikorodu by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi, during events marking his 10th coronation anniversary.
Represented by the wife of Lagos State’s deputy governor, Oluremi Hamzat, Mrs Tinubu expressed gratitude for the honour, describing it as both a personal recognition and a call to service.
“Ikorodu holds a special place in the heart of Lagos,” she said, acknowledging its history of producing industrious citizens. She praised Oba Shotobi’s decade of leadership, which she described as marked by peace, progress, and cultural preservation.
Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, and NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa all commended Oba Shotobi for transforming Ikorodu into a thriving business hub and for his inclusive, impactful leadership.
