Peter Obi Does Not Engage in Personality Attacks

The Obidient Movement has clarified that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, does not engage in personality attacks or endorse such conduct.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, said Obi has consistently shown commitment to constructive engagement and philanthropy rather than personal confrontations.
Tanko explained that Obi channels his efforts into education, youth empowerment, healthcare, and support for the poor and vulnerable, stressing that his interventions are always issue-based.
Addressing concerns over Obi’s involvement in the recent case of activist Dele Farotimi, Tanko noted that the former governor’s actions were misinterpreted. He said Obi only sought to address the circumstances surrounding Farotimi’s detention, facilitated by the Ooni of Ife, and not an act of subservience or attack on anyone.
Tanko also dismissed allegations linking Obi or his team to a controversial WhatsApp broadcast targeting Lagos, describing the claims as propaganda without evidence.
On the leaked “Yes Daddy” audio, the movement maintained that Obi’s choice of legal strategy should not be misconstrued as an admission of guilt.
“The truth is that Peter Obi does not condone personal attacks. His politics has always been about issues, development, and uplifting the less privileged,” Tanko said.
