Muslim leaders in Oyo State have called for intensified prayers, unity, and collective action to confront the growing challenges of banditry and kidnappings across the state.
The religious leaders made the call during a special gathering where they offered prayers for peace, security, and the safe return of victims of recent abductions.
According to them, the fight against insecurity requires not only government intervention but also the cooperation of citizens, traditional institutions, religious bodies, and community leaders.
They stressed that unity among residents remains crucial in defeating criminal elements and preventing further attacks on communities, schools, and travelers.
The clerics also urged Nigerians to support security agencies with credible information while encouraging political and community leaders to work together in addressing the root causes of insecurity.
The prayer session comes amid growing concerns over recent cases of kidnapping and bandit attacks in parts of Oyo State and neighbouring communities.
