Osun Offers Residents, Students Free Wi-Fi

The Osun State Government has unveiled a new initiative, Imole Wi-Fi, to provide free internet access for residents, students, businesses, and communities across the state.
The project is part of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s drive to boost digital inclusion, improve access to online resources, and empower young people with the tools needed to compete in the global economy.
According to the government, the service will be rolled out in phases, beginning with strategic locations such as higher institutions, markets, transport hubs, and other public spaces to ensure wide accessibility.
Officials explained that the initiative is designed to reduce the digital divide, support innovation, and create opportunities for learning, entrepreneurship, and e-governance.
Governor Adeleke noted that free Wi-Fi would not only enhance education for students but also help small businesses leverage the internet for growth. He urged residents to embrace the facility responsibly while assuring that more access points will be installed across local governments in the coming months.
