Osun Gov: Adeleke, Oyebamiji Dream Victory as Campaign Begins
Campaign activities for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election have officially commenced, with Governor Ademola Adeleke and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, both expressing strong optimism about winning the August 15 poll.
Speaking at separate campaign events across the state, the candidates assured supporters of their readiness to secure victory at the ballot box. Governor Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, highlighted what he described as his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, education, and social welfare, urging voters to renew his mandate.
“We have laid a solid foundation for development and people-oriented governance. The progress must continue,” the governor told party faithful during the campaign flag-off.
On his part, Oyebamiji said the APC is determined to reclaim power in the state, promising improved economic opportunities, better governance, and enhanced security if elected. He urged residents to support what he called a “new direction” for Osun.
The commencement of campaigns has heightened political activities across Osun State, with parties mobilising grassroots supporters and unveiling policy proposals ahead of the election.
Political analysts say the contest is likely to be fiercely competitive, given the influence of major political stakeholders and the strategic importance of the state in the South-West region.
As campaign rallies, consultations, and media engagements gather momentum, residents are expected to witness increased political messaging and voter sensitisation in the weeks leading to the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reiterated its commitment to conducting a credible and peaceful poll, while security agencies have assured the public of adequate measures to maintain order throughout the campaign period.
