The Osun State House of Assembly has officially endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term, passing a unanimous vote of confidence ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The motion was introduced by Adewumi Adeyemi, who represents the Obokun State Constituency, and seconded by Taofiq Olayiwola from the Ede South Constituency.

During Tuesday’s plenary session, the 26-member Assembly—comprising 25 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the All Progressives Congress (APC)—publicly declared their support for Governor Adeleke.

Speaker of the House, Adewale Egbedun, lauded the governor’s accomplishments, especially in light of his 65th birthday, and praised his dedication to advancing Osun State through his five-point agenda.

“As representatives of the people, we are proud of Governor Adeleke’s leadership,” the Speaker said, encouraging him to continue his strides toward progress.

Simeon Popoola, who represents the Boripe-Boluwaduro Constituency, offered a glowing commendation, describing Adeleke as sincere and compassionate. “Politics aside, Mr. Governor is genuine, kind-hearted, and straightforward. These qualities have deeply contributed to his success,” Popoola stated.
