The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke for allegedly leaving the state for over two weeks without any formal announcement or temporary handover of power to his deputy.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi described the governor’s extended absence as “abnormal”, questioning who had been overseeing the affairs of the state in his absence.

Our findings confirmed that Governor Adeleke left the state unannounced about two weeks ago. His silence is troubling, especially for someone holding such a sensitive position,” the APC said.

The party also claimed that the governor’s unannounced departure came after his failed attempt to defect to the APC, although it provided no further evidence to support the allegation.
