Ondo targets young talents with new U-17 tourney
 
                
The Ondo State Government has launched the Odatiwa U-17 Football Competition, aimed at discovering and nurturing young football talents across the 18 local government areas.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Segun Omoyofunmi, said the initiative aligns with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwaโs youth empowerment agenda and seeks to promote unity, discipline, and teamwork among young people.
He described the event as โa movement of hope, unity, and opportunity,โ noting that it provides a structured pathway for grassroots football development.
Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, Divine Ogbonnaya, said outstanding players discovered during the tournament would receive support to pursue professional careers.
