Ondo NSCDC arrests four over transformer, telecom equipment theft
The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four suspects — Mogaji Ibrahim (40), Umaru Adamu (32), Abba Muhazu (19), and Adamu Idris (25) — for allegedly stealing parts of transformers and telecommunication equipment.
According to the command’s spokesman, Dan Aidamenbor, the suspects were caught on Thursday, June 26, 2025, by the command’s tactical team at the old Ore Toll Gate along Lagos Expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area.
The men were reportedly transporting vandalised high tension cables, copper wires, transformer parts, and other metal items from Kano to Lagos. The arrests are part of NSCDC’s intensified efforts to protect critical national infrastructure through intelligence-led operations.
