Ondo Makes Contributory Health Scheme Mandatory

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has made the State Contributory Health Scheme compulsory for all residents to ease healthcare costs and improve access to medical services.
Represented by Health Commissioner Dr. Banji Ajaka during the presentation of ₦38 million in cheques to 39 residents for medical support, Aiyedatiwa said the initiative already benefits public servants and will now cover all citizens.
Under the scheme, patients contribute 40% of operation costs while the government covers 60%.
Ajaka also mentioned the Abiyamo scheme, which offers free maternal and child healthcare—including both normal deliveries and caesarean sections—for registered beneficiaries.
