Ondo Guber: APC vetting committee clears Aiyedatiwa, 15 other aspirants for screening
The vetting committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has cleared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and 15 other governorship aspirants in Ondo State to appear before the party’s screening committee.
The aspirants are expected to appear before the screening committee in a few days time.
According to the committee, the governor did not forge his WAEC certificate, contrary to allegations.
The committee, in its report submitted to the party by its chairman, Prof Abdulkarim Kana, disclosed that it found no credible evidence to substantiate the allegation of certificate forgery against Aiyedatiwa.
The aspirants include Ayiedatiwa, Olusoji Ehinlanwo, Jimi Odimayo, Jimoh Ibrahim, and APC National Vice Chairman (South West) Isaacs Kekemeke, Wale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema, Olusola Oke (SAN),

Others are Olamide Ohunyeye, Morayo Lebi, Oladiran Iyantan, Prof. Francis Faduyile, Mayowa Akinfolarin, and Ifeoluwa Oyedele, as well as two female aspirants, Funmilayo Adekojo and Funke Omogoroye.
While urging the aspirants to refrain from making unfounded allegations that could undermine the credibility of the party primaries, the committee maintained that the documents of the aspirants that were reviewed include nomination forms, educational qualifications, party membership card, INEC voter card, and birth certificate.
“All aspirants are cleared to participate in the screening exercises. The following aspirant must present the originals (for sighting) and copies of the following documents before the Screening Committee.
“Adewale Akinterinwa Olumuyiwa: APC Membership Card and Certificate of Indigeneship; Francis Adedayo Faduyile: Certificate of Indigeneship; Olusoji Adewale Ehinlanwo: Certificate of Indigeneship; Olusola Alex Oke: Certificate of Indigeneship and Birth Certificate; Omogoroye Folakemi Judith: Certificate of Indigeneship; Waheed-Adekojo Funmilayo Mary: Birth Certificate.
“The Vetting Committee is confident that the vetting process has been conducted with integrity and transparency.
“The Committee’s recommendations are aimed at ensuring that only qualified and credible aspirants are presented for the party primaries, in line with the party’s commitment to internal democracy and good governance.”
