Nollywood Actor Stanley Amandi Arrested Over Alleged Role in Coup Plot

Nollywood actor and film director, Stanley Amandi, has been arrested by security operatives over his alleged involvement in a plot to forcibly overthrow the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Amandi was reportedly taken into custody alongside several serving and retired military officers who are accused of planning a coup against the democratically elected government.

According to security sources, the arrests followed weeks of intelligence gathering which uncovered meetings, communications, and financial links allegedly connecting the suspects to plans aimed at destabilising the country. The authorities claim the plot involved coordinated actions designed to undermine national security and democratic governance.

While details of Amandi’s specific role remain unclear, sources said investigators are probing allegations that the actor may have provided logistical support and links to civilian networks, though no formal charge has been announced as of the time of filing this report.
