No rift with Makinde, Olubadan — Alaafin
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has dismissed reports of a rift between him, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.
Speaking on the issue, the monarch described his relationship with both leaders as cordial, stating that there is no conflict as being speculated in some quarters.
He emphasised the importance of unity and cooperation among traditional rulerand government authorities, noting that such harmony is essential for peace, development and stability in the state.
The Alaafin also urged the public to disregard rumours of discord, assuring that there is mutual respect and understanding among the parties involved.
Observers say the clarification is aimed at calming tensions and reinforcing collaboration between key stakeholders in Oyo State’s leadership structure.
