The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has increased the supply of crude oil to the Dangote Refinery, in a move aimed at boosting local refining capacity and improving fuel availability across the country.

According to industry sources, the adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen domestic refining operations and reduce reliance on imported petroleum products. The increased allocation is expected to help the refinery operate closer to its installed capacity.

Officials noted that consistent crude supply remains critical to ensuring steady production of refined products such as petrol, diesel and aviation fuel. The move is also seen as a step toward stabilising fuel prices and enhancing energy security.

The development comes amid earlier concerns about supply shortfalls, which had forced the refinery to source crude from international markets. Stakeholders say improved local supply could help reduce operational costs and support more efficient production.

Energy analysts believe that sustained collaboration between NNPC and the refinery will be key to achieving long-term stability in Nigeria’s downstream sector.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the oil and gas value chain, ensuring that domestic refining delivers tangible benefits to the economy and consumers.
