Niger Police Arrest Five Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Weapons and Drugs
The Niger State Police Command has arrested five suspected armed robbers, including an 18-year-old fugitive, Jamilu Abdullahi, a.k.a. Zabo, wanted for alleged murder.
Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun said on Monday that Abdullahi was apprehended during an intelligence-led raid on August 2, 2025, around Stadium Road, Minna. He was found with a sharp iron rod used for stabbing and robbery. Abdullahi, identified as a gang leader linked to several violent crimes, is now assisting investigators to track other members.
Four more suspects were arrested on August 6 during a sting operation in the Barkin-Sale area. Police recovered three knives, scissors, and substances suspected to be cannabis.
