My Reforms Have Restored Nigeria’s Global Respect – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has said that his administration’s economic reforms are stabilising Nigeria’s economy and restoring the country’s global reputation.
Speaking on Tuesday when he received the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, Orumogege III, and other royal fathers at the State House, Abuja, Tinubu likened Nigeria’s economy to a patient that has survived a life-threatening illness.
“The bleeding has stopped. Haemorrhage is gone; the patient is alive,” the President declared.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled “In just two years, Nigeria is now respected globally,” Tinubu said his government’s bold steps were necessary to reverse years of neglect, corruption, and economic mismanagement.
“Years of neglect and self-deception, fake records, smuggling, and arbitrage trading of currency denied Nigeria the revenue needed for progress. With prayers, patience, and perseverance, I’m glad to tell you today that the economy is stabilised,” he said.
The President also highlighted the creation of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a major step toward ensuring that no student drops out of school due to poverty.
“Everybody has a right to education; it is the greatest weapon against poverty. That’s what we are doing,” Tinubu said, adding that his administration is also investing aggressively in infrastructure development.
He thanked the visiting monarch for acknowledging the difficult but necessary decisions taken since assuming office, including the removal of fuel subsidy.
