Makinde Renames The Polytechnic Ibadan in Honour of Late Ex-Governor Olunloyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially renamed The Polytechnic Ibadan after the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of the state.
The governor made the announcement on Thursday during the state burial ceremony held in honour of the late Olunloyo.
Dr. Olunloyo, who passed away a few weeks ago, served as the governor of the old Oyo State from October to December 1983. He was notably the first Ibadan indigene to hold that office and also served as a rector of the Polytechnic during his lifetime.
Governor Makinde stated that the institution will henceforth be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan, in recognition of Olunloyo’s contributions to the state and his lasting legacy.
“This renaming is a mark of honour and respect for a man who gave so much to Oyo State,” Makinde said.
