“I want to be back with YBNL. What I did back then [leaving YBNL Nation] wasn’t intentional. I didn’t hear from Olamide before leaving and after I left, he just locked up.
“But I’ve spoken to him since leaving. I chatted with him via Instagram on his birthday and he responded.”
When asked if Olamide was following him on Instagram, the ‘Monalisa’ singer replied, “No. He doesn’t follow anyone on Instagram.”
Lyta discussed his purported break from Olamide’s record label in a 2019 interview.
Olamide stated in a separate interview that Lyta sought to leave the record label after claiming to have attracted another record label. Many music fans had chastised the Nigerian rapper for abandoning Lyta, a promising rapper at the time.
In a 2022 interview, he stated that he quit YBNL Nation because he “heard a lot of things from friends and people in the industry.”
He added that he “didn’t know who or what to believe and some people eventually got into my head.”
Lyta also disclosed that he made efforts to return to YBNL, he even tried to get people to push for him, but Olamide did not respond.
