Lies, Deceit, Corruption Can’t Improve Citizens’ Welfare — Nigerians Tell FG
Some aggrieved Nigerians have called on the Federal Government to urgently change course, warning that lies, deceit and corruption cannot translate into improved welfare for citizens.
The concerned citizens, who spoke through public statements and civic groups, said persistent economic hardship, rising cost of living and declining purchasing power contradict official assurances of economic recovery. They argued that without transparency, accountability and sincere governance, government policies would continue to fail ordinary Nigerians.
They urged the Federal Government to focus on people-centred policies, tackle corruption decisively, and communicate honestly with citizens, noting that trust remains critical to national stability and development.
According to them, meaningful improvements in welfare can only be achieved through credible leadership, effective service delivery and genuine commitment to addressing the needs of the masses.
