LaLiga: Iheanacho Returns to Sevilla Amid Uncertain Future

Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has returned to Sevilla for pre-season training as questions linger over his long-term future at the Spanish club.
Iheanacho, 28, joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer but struggled to find form, failing to score in nine LaLiga appearances. He did, however, register two goals in the Copa del Rey.
In January, the former Leicester City forward was loaned to English Championship side Middlesbrough, where he made 15 league appearances, scoring once and providing two assists.
With new head coach Matias Almeyda now at the helm at Sevilla, Iheanacho may have a fresh opportunity to prove himself and revive his career at the Andalusian club. He currently has two years remaining on his contract with the former UEFA Europa League champions.
The coming weeks could be decisive in determining whether Iheanacho remains part of Almeyda’s plans or seeks another move before the transfer window closes.
