Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated a leather processing and manufacturing hub in Mushin, designed to generate 10,000 direct jobs and strengthen the stateโ€™s role as West Africaโ€™s leather logistics capital.

The project, named after the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was launched on Saturday during her three-day official visit to Lagos.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor explained that the facility is equipped with modern industrial machines capable of mass-producing shoes, bags, belts, packaging materials, and other leather products.

He added that the hub would ease the burden on nano, small, and medium-scale enterprises that often struggle to meet large orders due to inadequate equipment and capacity.

While commissioning the hub, Mrs. Tinubu described it as a trailblazing initiative that further cements Lagos Stateโ€™s reputation as the heartbeat of innovation and enterprise in Nigeria.
