A major coalition of opposition leaders has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their official platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The coalition includes prominent figures such as:

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar

Former Senate President David Mark

2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi

Former Governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) and Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna)

Additionally, some aggrieved members from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)—including John Oyegun, Rotimi Amaechi, Abubakar Malami, and Rauf Aregbesola—have joined the movement.

This realignment has revived hope and strengthened the voice of the opposition ahead of 2027.

David Mark has been named Interim National Chairman of the ADC.

Rauf Aregbesola is serving as the Interim National Secretary.
