Abducted Oyo school principal, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, has dismissed claims that her captors demanded the introduction of Sharia Law as a condition for her release and that of other victims.
Speaking after regaining freedom, Alamu urged Nigerians not to politicise their ordeal, insisting that several reports circulating about the abduction were inaccurate.
The principal clarified that the kidnappers’ motives should not be twisted for political, ethnic, or religious purposes, stressing that the focus should remain on ending insecurity and protecting lives.
Her comments come amid widespread debate and speculation following the abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State, a case that sparked national outrage and calls for stronger security measures.
Alamu also expressed gratitude to security agencies, government officials, and concerned Nigerians who contributed to efforts that led to the victims’ release.
The development has added a new dimension to discussions surrounding the kidnapping incident, with many calling for greater caution in the dissemination of information during security crises.
