Keyamo Mocks Opposition Coalition, Says ADC Can’t Replicate APC’s 2013 Success
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has dismissed the newly proposed opposition coalition, the All Democratic Alliance (ADC), calling it a failed attempt to replicate the 2013 merger that formed the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a post shared via his official X account (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Keyamo described the initiative as a “pedestrian joke.”
> “If they are thinking of recreating what the APC did in 2013, then this is nothing but a pedestrian joke — a complete mockery of that seismic political coalition,” he wrote.
The ADC is reportedly backed by a group known as the National Opposition Coalition Group, which includes notable political figures such as:
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar
Ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai
Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi
Umar Ardo, a former aide to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and convener of the League of Northern Democrats.
The group formally applied to register the ADC with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, and the commission acknowledged receipt on Friday.
Keyamo, however, brushed off the move, labelling it an “overhyped political stunt” aimed at gaining relevance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
