Kebbi approves N60m for health college accreditation

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved ₦60 million to support the accreditation of eight academic programmes at the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega, by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
The funding, aimed at strengthening tertiary education in the state, will enable students—especially those affected by the October 17, 2024 disruption—to continue their studies and obtain National Diploma (ND) qualifications.
According to the Provost, Hussaini Aliyu, the accreditation process is already underway. He added that the governor also approved the renovation of students’ hostels to improve living and learning conditions on campus.
Education stakeholders have commended the intervention, describing it as proof of Governor Idris’s commitment to repositioning health education and producing skilled manpower for the state’s healthcare sector.
