The Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on School Feeding, Dr. Fauziya Buhari-Ado, says the scheme has transformed lives by empowering women, supporting local farmers, and boosting school attendance across the state.

Speaking after receiving the 2025 4th Humanitarian Bootcamp Award in Nairobi, Kenya, Dr. Fauziya praised Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, describing the initiative as “a model of inclusive development.”

“Each meal we provide is not just food; it’s a bridge to learning, a shield against poverty, and a promise to our children,” she said.

She called for stronger partnerships to tackle hunger and promote economic transformation across Africa, stressing that food security is essential for stability and peace.

The Kaduna school feeding scheme, funded with over ₦4 billion annually, currently serves 730,000 pupils through 7,000 cooks across 3,400 schools in the state.
