Judiciary making strides in restoring public confidence — CJN

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, says the judiciary has recorded significant progress in restoring public confidence over the past legal year.
Speaking at the Supreme Court’s special session to mark the 2025/2026 legal year in Abuja, she highlighted reforms such as stricter case management, disciplining erring judicial officers, modernising court processes, and digitising records.
The CJN added that the National Judicial Council reviewed all pending petitions, sanctioning those found guilty while exonerating others where allegations were unsubstantiated. She also noted infrastructural upgrades, staff training, and stronger timelines for hearings to reduce delays.
