Jonathan denies linking Buhari to Boko Haram

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has refuted claims suggesting that he linked late President Muhammadu Buhari to Boko Haram.
In a statement by his spokesman, Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan clarified that some media reports had misrepresented his remarks during the book launch of former Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor.
According to him, the reports falsely claimed he alleged Boko Haram nominated Buhari to represent them in peace talks with the Federal Government, thereby implying Buhari’s complicity in the insurgency.
Jonathan insisted he never made such remarks, stressing that the interpretation being circulated was misleading.
