Jigawa Governor Signs Hisbah Board Bill Into Law

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has officially signed the Hisbah Board Bill into law, formally establishing the Hisbah Board as a statutory institution aimed at promoting moral discipline and social order across the state.

The bill was signed on Tuesday during a brief ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Dutse, during the weekly State Executive Council meeting.

Governor Namadi described the development as a milestone that concluded over eight months of legislative and administrative work.

> “Today, we have signed into law the Hisbah Bill, which establishes the Hisbah Board as an official institution in Jigawa State,” he said.

He emphasized that the law will strengthen the Board’s authority and improve its efforts in fostering moral values, social justice, and community well-being.

The governor also urged Hisbah personnel to discharge their duties with fairness, dedication, and the fear of God.

Namadi praised the Hisbah Board Establishment Committee for their commitment and hard work, saying their efforts were key in bringing the bill to life.
