Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei Is Alive – Foreign Minister
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has confirmed that the country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is alive following recent strikes reportedly carried out by Israel and the United States across parts of Iran.
Speaking in an interview with NBC News from Tehran, Araghchi said Khamenei was alive “as far as I know,” adding that all high-ranking Iranian officials were safe.
The confirmation comes amid heightened regional tensions after coordinated military strikes targeted strategic locations within Iran. While details of the damage and casualties remain unclear, Iranian authorities have sought to reassure both domestic and international audiences about the stability of the country’s leadership.
Araghchi disclosed that he had been in communication with several Gulf states to clarify Iran’s position. According to him, Tehran has no intention of attacking neighbouring countries but is responding to what it described as aggression.
“We have no intention to attack them,” he said, referring to Gulf nations. “We are actually attacking the American bases in the act of self defence.”
The situation has escalated fears of a broader regional conflict, with global leaders urging restraint and calling for diplomatic solutions to prevent further violence.
International observers continue to monitor developments closely as tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States remain high.
