IG decorates newly promoted officers, denies promotion scandal

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has decorated newly promoted senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force while debunking reports of a promotion scandal circulating on social media.

Egbetokun described the allegations as false and mischievous, stating that all promotions followed due process and merit. He added that the Force remains committed to transparency, professionalism, and accountability in its internal operations.

The IGP also congratulated the officers on their new ranks and urged them to rededicate themselves to service, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
