[ICYMI] 542 Senior Military Officers Retire After 35 Years of Service

A total of 542 senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) officially retired from the Nigerian Armed Forces on Thursday, June 19, 2025, after completing 35 years of service.
362 from the Nigerian Army
134 from the Navy
46 from the Air Force
Retirement Ceremony Highlights:
Held at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, represented by Maj. Gen. Aligbe Obhiozele, praised the retirees for their patriotism and discipline.
Obhiozele advised them to avoid poor health management and financial recklessness in retirement.
Support and Training:
NAFRC Commandant, AVM Bashir Mamman, revealed that over 53,000 personnel have been trained by the center to date.
President Bola Tinubu was commended for approving key upgrades:
Bigger starter packs for retirees
Digitisation of military records
Improved e-learning facilities
Modernized workshop equipment
Voices of the Retirees:
Retirees received vocational training and discharge certificates.
Sgt. Musa Bello, trained in farming, expressed readiness to start civilian life and invest his gratuity in agriculture.
