Gov Zulum denies defection to ADC, reaffirms loyalty to APC

The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has firmly denied rumours suggesting he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the speculation as baseless and politically motivated.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, the governor condemned the rumour—circulating on some online platforms—as a deliberate fabrication intended to stir political tension.
> “We have become aware of a fictitious and mischievous social media report circulating in certain quarters, alleging plans by me to decamp from the APC to the ADC alongside five other governors,” the statement read.
Governor Zulum dismissed the claim as the work of detractors who have contributed nothing meaningful to the progress of Borno State or the country.
> “This is entirely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors,” he said. “It is a classic example of cheap, politically motivated speculation designed solely to distract us.”
Zulum reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the APC and reiterated his dedication to the continued development and peace of Borno State.
