Akpabio then instructed the Senate Clerk to update the official records.
With the latest defections, the current composition of the 10th Senate is:
APC – 70 seats
PDP – 28 seats
Labour Party – 5 seats
NNPP – 1 seat
SDP – 2 seats
APGA – 1 seat
The defections were witnessed by high-ranking APC officials, including the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige. Several members of the House of Representatives also attended in solidarity.
