Former House of Representatives member and Labour Party senatorial candidate for Ebonyi South, Hon. Linus Okorie, has dismissed President Bola Tinubu’s claims of prioritising South-East economic development, describing them as “an illusion of economic regeneration.”

Okorie accused the Federal Government of promoting “media hype without tangible results,” arguing that the region suffers from “representation without results.” He faulted Minister of Works David Umahi for what he termed “intellectual dishonesty,” saying road projects cited as part of the South-East’s transformation actually lie mostly in South-South states.

According to him, the government’s narrative of progress is built on “recycled projects and misinformation,” rather than genuine infrastructural renewal for the South-East.
